Sure I love my Louis, Gucci, Balenciaga and Chloe but at the same time I thoroughly enjoy carrying a handbag that no one else has - a one of a kind. Even walking around Chicago down Michigan Ave, Halsted and Milwaukee I see girls carrying many of the same handbags from the popular boutiques in the city, and although they are cute, what fun is it to carry something that half the world also carries? I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I like to be unique. Thanks to facebook I came across a Chicago based company that provides you with the tools to create your very own custom handbag. How amazing is that? There are 8 silhouettes to choose from, 40 Italian leathers, 6 cotton sateen liners and hand brushed Italian hardware in gold or silver tones.

cherry on top
As the air gets warmer the layers of clothing start to get lighter and some feel they lose their fashionable touch. It doesn't have to be that way. The easiest way to wear your spring and summer trends well is to accessorize or add the finishing touches. After all it's the cherry on top of a sundae that makes a sundae, right? Think handbags, embellished flats, loud bracelets, long necklaces, skinny belts, scarfs and statement rings. Try mixing and matching a few of these so everyday your outfit feels fresh and fashionable ... it's as easy as that!

florals, no longer just for grandmother's couch
If you have been out shopping recently or browsing online you probably have noticed that floral print is back this season. If you haven't, it's time to wake up ladies and look around. Floral prints are back this season and have been seen on dresses, blouses/billowy tops, T's, skirts and tanks ... I have even seen them as patches on jeans but I'm not sure how I feel about that trend yet so I am choosing to ignore it. As you all know I love dresses more than, well anything, so you will find me come spring and summer on the weekends wearing plenty of floral dresses with wedge heels (they make it so easy to walk the city in). But for my friends that aren't dress girls, pairing a billowy floral top with a form fitting skirt is a great option for a spring day. You will look fashionable and are still showing off that figure you worked so hard to achieve this winter. This print is the perfect print to throw on when you need to feel feminine, even when paired with your favorite 10 year old denim shorts.

ROCK'N NEW BAG
Most of you are familiar with the Longchamp bags - you know the ones many city girls carry their work shoes and lunch in, use as a gym bag or a carry on for traveling? For many people the bag line stops there, but there is more to the collection and many more at that. And what's even better is they just partnered with Kate Moss to create a "rock'n" new bag line that is attracting what I think is a younger, more hip group of buyers. Whether you are "rock'n" the casual look or "rock'n" the glam look, the new line has something in store for you. Longchamp has added some sex appeal to their existing line and I'mthinking I like it, how about you?

hey maxi, nice to see you again.
Although the weather isn't 100% ready for us to be wearing our maxis out with nothing to cover up, I think it is the appropriate time to put maxis on your radar. Yes they are back for another season. Thankfully these dresses are ridiculously comfortable, a great pick for a spring/summer day out to lunch with the girls or shopping ... and are even better the day after a night of one too many cocktails. Instead of reaching for the sweats like you did in college, please do us all a favor and wear the ever-so-comfortable-maxi! A lot of my friends are gearing up for their spring vacations which also got me to thinking. Maxis are my go to travel outfit. Throw on your favorite maxi, a comfortable cardigan, a fitted blazer/jacket, pashmina worn as a scarf (that can double as a blanket), shoes that can slip on easily and a tote for your carry-ons and you will be the most stylish girl on the plane. Once you reach your warm (hopefully!) destination, peel off the layers, toss them in your bag and you are good to go my friend.

dress to impress
I'd like to start out by saying as many of you fashion lovers know, Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London home Thursday. In my eyes, he was like a God. His edgy pieces were treasured and worshiped by many stylish women across the world and seen on countless celebrity red carpets. RIP McQueen, you will be missed.
Now with Valentine's Day right around the corner I'm thinking I should pay a little tribute to McQueen. His pieces alone can be the perfect Valentines outfit, I mean you don't even need jewels to impress someone in one of his creations. Like this short sleeve satin dress, hello not over the top sex appeal. It is perfect for a date that you want to look sexy for but not sluttly. Obviously, that's just wrong. Pair with a fun clutch and killer heels and you are all set. Have fun this weekend all ... I'm off for a Valentines getaway with my fiance tonight and my cousin's wedding tomorrow. Talk Monday.
And ladies, don't forget you must dress to impress this weekend (single or taken). Show those men what you got!

to all my big breasted friends
Unfortunately I don't have this problem but for those of you that do I have a suggestion today. There seems to be a common theme with larger chested women trying to cover up their goods with a baggy tee or bulky sweater. I have news for you, this is only adding pounds .... and lots of them. I came across this dress today featured on ShopItToMe.com that is the perfect dress in the eyes of a chesty women. For starters V-necks are your best friend as it elongates your body and separates your cleavage. In addition wearing an a-line or full skirt helps create the illusion of your body being proportional and the nipped waist drops pounds of your body instantly. If all of that still isn't good enough, the 3/4 sleeve draws attention away from your trouble area and places the focus on your arms and hands. I'd suggest a pair of showstopping earrings or sparkly bracelet to complete this outfit and again, draw attention away from the trouble areas. Oh and it's on sale for 40% off, jackpot!
